Shropshire Family History Society has been in existence for 44 years, with over 1000 members from all around the world.

Membership is open to anyone interested in family history: whether your ancestors are from Shropshire, or further afield we are a friendly lot why not talk to us about your research. You may even discover you have Shropshire ancestors you’ve not yet found!

We publish a quarterly journal in March, June, September and December and hold monthly meetings over Zoom so we can link with our members across the world. Talks take place on the third Tuesday of each month, except July and August.

We also hold occasional meetings/events at Cross Houses, Shrewsbury, and are currently planning our in-person sessions for 2024.

A new website is in development and we hope to launch it in the Spring, which will provide the chance to find out much more about what we get up to and member-only access to many of our resources.
