The Gloucestershire Family History Society (GFHS) is a self-help organisation staffed by volunteers helping all to research their ancestors and the background against which they led their lives in Gloucestershire and beyond. It has a worldwide membership and is a member of the Family History Federation.

Our Family History Centre at the Heritage Hub in Gloucester offers a library, other resources, access to online resources and knowledgeable volunteers to help you with your research. It is open from Tuesday to Friday each week and details can be found on our website www.gfhs.org.uk.

The Society sells local History Books, Maps and CDs. The CDs are published by the Society and contain transcriptions of Gloucestershire Registers, Baptisms, Marriages, Burials and many monumental inscriptions, plus much more. Many of these CDs are also available as downloads. They can be purchased through the online shop or from the Family History Centre.

The Society also organises monthly talks which are at present on Zoom and details are posted on our website.
