Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain
The Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain (JGSGB) is dedicated to promoting Jewish family history and genealogy. We encourage research and the preservation of Jewish genealogy records. We have an extensive library, with specialist databases and expert advice available. We are open to everyone interested in Jewish genealogy.
JGSGB has unique expertise in Jewish genealogy and family history, both in the UK and internationally. We are the only Jewish Genealogical Society in the country. We are skilled in researching Jewish places of origin, e.g. Poland, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Germany.
We can access books and literature helping take people’s research back over several generations. We can signpost you to JGSGB’s own Jewish Ancestor Series, which is available for immediate purchase and to JGSGB merchandise.

We have over fifty years of experience in helping and supporting our worldwide membership with their Kent family history research.
The society publishes a quarterly journal, monthly email newsletter as well as regular online news and articles.
In addition, the website provides access to unique Kent based datasets not available elsewhere, including wills, local business and education records, to name just a few.
Members may keep in regular touch with each other via our online community forum, providing support and advice when researching your family history.
Regular meetings are hosted by branches across Kent.
Members in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA each have their own member representatives and communities.

Hampshire Genealogical Society covers all the parishes within Hampshire. We publish a series of Village Booklets which are a one stop guide to many Hampshire parishes and their associated records. Thanks to over 45 years of research, we have transcribed nearly 500 years of parish records, together with Monumental Inscriptions from throughout Hampshire which are available on CDs or as pdfs . These and other publications relating to Hampshire are sold from our online shop.
We work in partnership with Hampshire Archives and Local Studies in Winchester. Our research centre has been based at Hampshire Archives since August 2021, where we run a help desk in the search room each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 10am-4pm.
For those unable to visit Winchester research enquiries can be submitted using the enquiry form on the contact us tab on our website.
Our membership is worldwide, and in addition to our 9 local groups within Hampshire we have both an international group and a national group which meet via zoom on alternate months.
We also run Family History support groups in libraries around Hampshire.
